How do I set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

This article explains how to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on bitcastle.

đŸ’» PC (Web)

1.Log in to bitcastle (https://bitcastle.io/en), hover over the person icon in the top-right corner, and click “Settings”.
 


2.n the Two-Factor Authentication section, click “Turn On”.
 



đŸ“± Mobile Web

1.Log in to bitcastle (https://bitcastle.io/en) and tap the person icon in the top-right corner.
 


2.Tap “Settings”.
 



đŸ“± App

1.Log in to the bitcastle app and tap the person icon in the top-left corner.
 


2.Tap “Settings”, then tap “Security”.
 


3.Tap the button next to “Google Authenticator” under Two-Factor Authentication.
 


The following steps are common for PC, Mobile Web, and App

4.Enter your bitcastle account password (the same password used for login), then tap “Verify”.
 


5.Install a 2FA app (Google Authenticator) from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
 


6.After installation, scroll down on the bitcastle screen and copy the “Setup Key” displayed.
Tap the square copy icon next to the Setup Key to copy it.
 



⚠ Important Notes
・The Setup Key is issued only to you.
・bitcastle cannot reissue or display the Setup Key again.
・The Setup Key is required if you need to reset 2FA in the future, so please store it securely.

7.Open the installed 2FA app (Google Authenticator) and tap “Get Started”.
 


8.If you are using the app for the first time, you will see the following options:
 


A. If you select “Scan a QR code”
Use your smartphone to scan the QR code displayed on the PC screen.
 


B. If you select “Enter a setup key”
・Account name: The email address registered with bitcastle
・Key: Paste or enter the copied Setup Key
 


9.After entering the information, tap “Add”.
 


10.Once setup is complete, a 6-digit authentication code will appear in the 2FA app.
 


⚠ Important Notes
・The authentication code refreshes automatically every 30 seconds.
・If the code is not entered within 30 seconds, an “Invalid authentication code” message may appear.
・A new code will be generated—please enter it while checking the timer next to the code.

11.Return to the bitcastle screen and tap “Next Step” displayed below the Setup Key.
 


12.Enter (or paste) the 6-digit authentication code shown in the app into the “Two-Factor Authentication Code” field, then tap “Confirm”.

💡 Tips
・You can copy the 6-digit code by long-pressing it.
・The code changes every 30 seconds.
・Entering the code right after it refreshes may help ensure smoother verification.
 


13.When “Enabled” is displayed, the setup is finished.
